A (Brief) History of Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin River Area (HFHWRA)
HFHWRA is locally operated as an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International.

Habitat for Humanity of
Lower Wisconsin River (LWRHFH) is founded

A second ReStore opens
in Portage
2017
Habitat offers the Home Buyer's Club to help people repair credit and budget for home ownership
2001
Habitat for Humanity of Sauk-Columbia County (HFHSCA)
is founded
2010
Habitat offers affordable
home repairs
2018
Habitat builds its 78th home in Baraboo for the Jordan family. The USDA Self-Help program concludes with 20 new homes built since 2014.

Our first ReStore opens
in Baraboo

Our affiliates merge to serve a tri-county area: Columbia, Sauk
& Iowa counties
